Stage Visuals for Wp.Shhh at Muara Showcase 2026

A series of rhythmic stage loops created for Wp.Shhh to bridge their analog sound with a bold digital aesthetic. Developed during a rapid creative sprint, the project features kinetic typography and a custom comic-book mascot that acts as a recurring visual hook. The loops provide a vibrant, textured backdrop, optimized for high-visibility live performance environments.

Concept

The project is a rhythmic exploration of the Wp.Shhh identity, designed as a series of stage loops that pulse alongside the band’s analog sound. Developed during a rapid creative sprint, the concept treats the band’s name as a recurring graphic hook rather than a static logo, layering it into a textured background that mirrors the repetitive, catchy nature of their songwriting.

Visuals

The output uses a saturated palette to establish a distinct stage presence, contrasting the band's organic setup with a digital-analog hybrid aesthetic. Slanted typography creates a sense of forward motion, while a custom microphone mascot (added as an intentional artistic liberty) provides a playful visual anchor and comic-book flair. The set mixes crisp vector patterns with bitmapped pixel clouds to reflect the nostalgic, lo-fi influences found in modern indie-pop.

Experience

The visuals act as a vibrant, textural backdrop that adds character to the performance without overshadowing the music. By leaning into bold patterns and retro motifs, the stage environment feels like an immersive, 90s-inspired music video brought to life. The result is a dynamic atmosphere that amplifies the band’s quirkiness while maintaining the laid-back charm found in their discography.

The Process

This project followed a multi-stage pipeline designed for rapid iteration by repurposing existing brand equity for a live environment. By auditing archival assets (including illustrations, social media graphics, and merch designs from earlier releases) the project functioned as a high-speed visual remix of their established identity. The set also introduced a custom 8-bit logo variation specifically for the debut of the band’s new song, bridging their nostalgic aesthetic with their latest material.

Reflection

This project served as an exercise in bridging a breezy indie-pop sound with a high-contrast digital identity. The accelerated timeline allowed for a raw, rhythmic execution where the visuals and the comic-book mascot act as a visual remix of the band’s persona. It demonstrates how a sharp, boutique design approach can create a tangible world for an analog band to live in, making the performance feel both modern and nostalgic.
